THE EYEZUP APP GIVES PARENTS TOTAL CONTROL IN HELPING CURB UNSAFE DRIVING AND TEXTING HABITS AMONG TEENAGERS. iPhone and Android Compatible App Available Today for Download with 7-Day Free Trial
PETERSBURG, Fla. (November 25th, 2019) – Parents looking to improve the driving habits and enhance the safety of teenagers behind the wheel now have a total-control resource in the EyezUP app for both iPhone and Android, which is available today for download at the App Store and Google Play.
Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for U.S. teens, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. The EyezUP app aims to help reduce cellphone distractions among adolescent drivers, who don’t always make the best decisions behind the wheel. Within the last decade, the highest number of motor vehicle crash deaths among 13-19 year-olds reached 11 deaths per day on average in 2008, IIHS data shows.
Following a simple connection and set up, the EyezUP app locks a child’s phone when the phone begins moving above the set speed. Once locked, the teen-ager has no access to routine phone calls, text messages, social media or e-mail. Emergency calls to 911 or parents can still be made or received, and parents can still send alerts to the teen’s phone. EyezUP is more than an app that reports after-the-fact behavior. We help to prevent texting and driving during the act of driving.
EyezUP also allows parents to instantly lock a child’s phone, or to schedule blocks of time when a child’s phone is automatically locked, such as for homework, bedtime, or during the school day regardless of whether the child is in a moving vehicle or not. Once set, EyezUP protection features kick-in automatically and remotely, and cannot be bypassed. If the child tries to remove the app, EyezUP sends a tamper alert to notify parents. EyezUP also allows parents to track the location of the child’s phone and see the speed of the moving phone. The EyezUP difference is total parental control in reducing cellphone driving distractions.
“As parents of young kids, we were concerned about the rising rate of accidents – many of them fatalities – caused by distracted driving,” said Trey Heyward – EyezUP owner. “We feel that we have created a truly unique app that can’t be turned off without parent notification. Parents now have greater control in eliminating driving distractions among their children. While there have been other attempts to stop the temptation to use a phone while driving, we feel they fall short of a total solution”.
